These signs are not all that complicated. They just needs some patience and maybe a glass of wine. Let me explain how I made the "Amazing Grace" sign. The first step is to put together the wood base. In this sign I used pallet boards. Which, let me tell you, are not easy to take apart unless you are using a reciprocating saw. I attached the boards using a thin piece of wood and my nail gun. I will also use these thin boards to attach the hanging hooks after the sign is completed. Next, sand the surface.
I designed my layout on the computer and print the pages out. There are multiple programs that you can use to make banners and such that will allow you to change the page size to that of your sign.
I traced the letter onto the wood using carbon copy paper that can be found at your local office supply store.
Now the fun part begins. Paint away! This is where the glass of wine is so very helpful.
